Former chief executive of Knight Oil Tools has been sentenced to one year in jail

Mark Knight, the former chief executive of Knight Oil Tools, has been sentenced to one year in jail for framing his brother in a drug bust to gain control of the family oilfield company according to Lafayette news station KATC.

Last year Knight pleaded no contest to charges of corrupt influencing and public bribery. Today Knight was sentenced to four years in prison on the bribery charge but that was suspended and he was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine as well as forfeit $87,000. Knight must also complete three years of probation.
