ENID, Okla. — There are a number of different industries that help to sustain Oklahoma, but none may be more important than the oil and gas industry.

As for Oklahoma oil and gas workers’ contribution to Oklahoma’s economy, it estimates Oklahoma’s gross domestic product grew an average of 2.41 percent annually between 2003 and 2017 and that the state’s oil and gas industry was responsible for 40 percent of that gain. Shouldn’t Oklahoma make plans for a life after oil? like the Saudis have been doing? or should they be forever dependent on one industry? A state so dependent on just one industry reminds me of Michigan.
