Nova Energy is looking for a hard-working and experienced Hot Shot Driver to transport freight between various locations across North Dakota and the Country. The drivers responsibilities include obtaining customers’ signatures upon completion of each delivery, ensuring that the freight is properly secured for transportation, and notifying management of any freight damage sustained during transportation. The driver should also ensure that the truck is labeled with correct placards when transporting any cargo. To be successful, a driver should be knowledgeable of road safety regulations and be able to maintain concentration for extended periods. Ultimately an outstanding driver should demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills as well as adhere to all company polices and procedures.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid Class A commercial drivers license (CDL)
- Clean Driving record
- Proven experience working as an OTR Driver
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- Ability to use road maps and GPS devices
- Ability to work long hours
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in written English to interact with clients, employees, Vendors and other professionals.
Duties and tasks
- Be willing and able to respond within 30 minutes of dispatch
- Be fit for duty 24/7/365, unless you have made previous arrangements for time off.
- Keep all assigned equipment clean and in job ready status (trucks, trailers, securing devices, dunnage, etc)
- Promptly report and traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicles breakdowns to management.
- Always present yourself to the customers in a clean, courteous and professional manner
- Make sure any and all paperwork is fill out correctly and turned in at the end of the day.
- Safely transport freight between various locations over long distances.
- Preform truck inspections before and after each trip.
- Carefully plan routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain logbooks detailing hours traveled, rest periods, miles covered, as well as all fuel, repairs and toll expense
- Assist in loading and unloading of freight into and off the company truck.
